The seasonally adjusted IHS Markit Brazil PMI Composite Output Index increased to 52.5 in September 2019 from 51.9 in the previous month. The reading pointed to the strongest expansion in the private sector since March, as both manufacturing output rose to a nearly two year high (PMI at 53.4 vs 52.5 in August) Unlike the Manufacturing PMI, the Construction PMI is not a weighted composite index. Rather, it is a seasonally adjusted index designed to measure total construction activity. The index is derived from the question that asks respondents to compare the level of total construction activity with the situation one month ago. The IHS Markit/CIPS UK Composite PMI was revised lower to 53.0 from a preliminary estimate of 53.3 and below January's 16-month high of 53.3. The latest reading signalled a further solid expansion in the private sector as manufacturing growth reached a 10-month high, while service sector activity rose at a slower pace.
