To compare daily sales with the target, we have a target line in this chart. When you input your monthly target, this template will convert it into a daily average. And, that target will be a benchmark for your daily performance. If you work involves reporting the actual and target data, you may find it useful to present the actual values versus the target values in a chart in Excel. For example, you can show the actual sales values versus the target sales values, or the satisfaction rating achieved versus the target rating. Manchester Toys needs to achieve £12.0 million in sales next year to make plan. To do this, the team of 5 sales reps each will each need to generate 1/5th of the £12,000,000 - giving them each an annual target of £2,400,000. Dividing this by 12, each rep is then left with a monthly target of £200,000. We can build a single chart and display multiple metrics. With just a little simple tricks we’ll create an effective Actual vs Target chart for comparison report and analysis with Excel. In this example we are using a single chart to represent 7 different KPIs on one Excel chart and here is the data used for this example:

In this example we have a table with columns for the sales person, their target sales and the actual sales they had. We will create a 2D bar chart for this data.
